More than 150 applications from all over Croatia, and our project is one of the 10 selected for the 13th INA Green Belt! 🌱💚

On Tuesday, 26 May, we took part in the ceremony to present plaques to the winners of the INA Green Belt programme and proudly presented the project "Mature and Green – the contribution of pensioners and pupils to the greening of public spaces."

The "Mature and Green" project is aimed at mitigating the effects of climate change by creating new green shaded areas in Vodice. Through the project, we will involve at least 100 pensioners and pupils in educational sessions on the importance of green spaces and reducing CO₂ emissions, organise a large volunteer planting event to plant 30 mulberry trees on public grounds, and distribute 100 saplings of native species to residents for planting in their gardens.

We are particularly pleased with the intergenerational collaboration that connects the experience and knowledge of older people with the desire of young people to make an active contribution to the community and the environment. We believe that this project will, in the long term, contribute to the quality of life, create more shade and make outdoor spaces more pleasant for all citizens.
