On June 5, 2026, the seventh workshop was held at the Vodice Elementary School as part of the “Kornati – It's Important to Know 10 Things About the Sea” project, which we are implementing through the Eco-Patrol program. 

This time, the students, together with the facilitator, explored the topic of sustainable agricultural and food systems – they discussed sustainable agriculture, healthy soil, the impact of food on the environment and our health, and the importance of local and seasonal foods.

Through fun and interactive activities, students: explored which fruits and vegetables grow in a specific part of the year through the game “Seasonal Bingo” participated in the game “Owls and Crows” and learned through teamwork reflecting on what life would be like without electricity and how people used to store food without refrigerators.

Particularly interesting was the “No Electricity” activity, in which students had to figure out how they would organize daily life without electricity – where they would find food, how they would preserve it, and what eating habits they would develop. Their solutions included drying, salting, smoking, and canning food – methods that were used long before modern technologies.

At the end of the workshop, the students shared their impressions during the evaluation and showed how much they had learned—from the importance of using local food to methods of preserving ingredients.

The workshop ended on a cheerful note – with socializing, ice cream, and a stroll through Vodice, a lovely conclusion to another shared learning and exploration.
