Ana Cabezas Lorenzo

Hello Argonautas! My name is Ana and I was a volunteer in Argonauta from September 2024 until September 2025. I’m from a coastal city called A Coruña, in Galicia, Spain. Before joining Argonauta, I studied Psychology and completed a Master’s in Forensic and Organizational Psychology. But honestly… I had no clear idea of what I wanted to do next. During my Bachelor’s I never joined an Erasmus program, and that always felt like unfinished business for me. Thanks to my best friend, I discovered this volunteering opportunity. We decided to apply at the same time because we’re basically like twins, and at first we thought about going together. Eventually, we realized that this kind of experience is something you need to do on your own. That’s how I ended up in Murter and started this adventure, side by side with Theresa. At the beginning, I was super excited (I even started learning Croatian before coming!). Little by little, we got used to the rhythm of island life, and Murter started to feel like home — with both its beautiful and its challenging sides. Winter was hard, yes, but I don’t regret for a second the decision to come here, especially because of Theresa and the countless things we learned during the 12 months we spent in Murter.
