On 21 April 2026, the sixth workshop was held at the premises of Vodice Primary School as part of the "Kornati – It's Important to Know 10 Things About the Sea" project, which is being carried out under the Argonauta Association's Eco-Patrols programme.

The workshop was dedicated to water as one of the most important natural resources. In the introductory part, the students were introduced to:

• the prevalence of water on Earth
• by dividing into salt and fresh water
• aggregate states of water
• The importance of water for the life of plants, animals and people
• Freshwater resources
• The circulation of water in nature

Activity 1: What do we know about water?

The students wrote down their first associations with the word "water", which they then analysed together. Most of the responses were related to rest and hygiene, which sparked a discussion about the true importance of water in everyday life and in nature. Through further questions, the students demonstrated excellent knowledge of topics such as the origin of water on Earth, the distribution of salt and fresh water, the availability of drinking water, the role of water in climate change, and the chemical composition and importance of water. 

Activity 2: The water cycle in nature and the journey of water to our homes

The students were divided into two groups and, through teamwork, created posters on the topics of the water cycle in nature and the collection and distribution of water. They presented their work to one another, thereby further reinforcing the material they had learned.

In the final part of the workshop, the students shared their impressions through the creative activity "Hand of Impressions":

• What they liked: the ability to purify water
• What surprised them: the lack of drinking water in many countries.
• What they didn't like: environmental pollution
• What they want to know more about: the possibilities of creating water
• The little thing that delighted them: the fact that the amount of water on Earth remains the same.

We're nearing the end, with another Eco Patrol workshop and a trip to Kornati National Park to look forward to. We're excited! 🙂
