Yesterday, the Argonauta association attended the first public presentation of the Amphorarium, a center for the culture and interpretation of the heritage of the island of Murter. In Murter yesterday, it wasn't just about the project, but about an idea that has been developing for years alongside the place and its people. At the Amphorarium presentation, everyone who participated in its creation gathered, from the initial ideas to today's implementation phase.

The project is presented through an architectural solution, the concept of furnishing and the way they will live in the space, but also through what actually sustains it, which is the community's relationship to its own heritage. It is precisely from that relationship that the very concept of the center was shaped.

The approximately 600-square-meter building will span three levels, with a strong connection between indoor and outdoor spaces, and a planned Mediterranean square as a gathering and event space. Movement through the space is conceived as an experience, including a descent into an underground section that simulates an underwater immersion.

The idea for the Amphorarium has been developing since 2010, and its origins come directly from our association. Through numerous activities, projects, and programs aimed at valorizing the Colentum archaeological site, the idea of a place to present the entire heritage of Murter has developed. We are excited by the announcement of this center's construction and the future initiatives and collaborations its work will bring.
