C’est parti!

On Wednesday, March 25, our volunteer Naelys held a year-long French language workshop at the Murterski Škoji Elementary School.

The goal of the workshop was to provide students with a short, fun, and interactive introduction to the French language. The workshop began with the game “hot potato,” in which the person holding the ball introduced themselves in French—name, age, and hobbies—and then quickly passed the ball to another person. This game encouraged the children to actively participate, laugh, and socialize, while simultaneously learning the basics of introducing themselves in French.

After that, games for learning numbers and colors followed, which kept the workshop energetic, fun, and interactive. In the end, we finished with the well-known game “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes,” which the students already knew, but this time the movements and words were combined in French, allowing for the practical internalization of routines without feeling like tedious learning.

The workshop was a great opportunity for the children to develop an interest in a foreign language through play and creativity, and at the end, the students said with a smile, “It was short, but sweet!” 🥰
