We are proud to highlight that Eco-Wednesday has been an integral part of Argonauta's local educational activities for years. Originally conceived as a series of workshops for children as part of our sustainability-focused programmes, it has grown alongside our community and become a recognisable and much-loved format among children, parents and educators. Through Eco-Wednesday, we developed practical methods for learning about the environment, encouraged the curiosity and environmental awareness of the youngest children, and, in collaboration with local nurseries and schools, laid the foundations for a more systematic approach to education for sustainable development. The Eko-srijeda programme is supported by donors: Šibensko-kninska County and the Ministry of Science, Education and Youth of the Republic of Croatia.

With the development and submission of the project 'Eco-Wednesday is Every Day!' to the Call for Proposals 'Strengthening the contribution of civil society organisations to education for sustainable development' within the framework of the Second Swiss Contribution, the 'Eco-Wednesday is Every Day!' programme, for the first time, could step beyond the local community and begin its national story — as a structured, certified and methodologically sound educational programme for kindergartens and schools across Croatia.
If funding is approved, the project will be implemented as a certified programme, pilot-tested in the nursery groups of DV Spužvica in Murter, Betina, Jezeri and Tisno, and in the first and second grades of OŠ Murterski škoji in Murter and OŠ Vjekoslav Kaleb in Tisno. The planned testing will cover eight thematic modules and involve more than a hundred children over one academic or school year. The project provides educational workshops for educators, teachers and specialist services in the participating educational institutions. We are particularly pleased that the Swiss partner organisation J'aime ma Planète has joined the project, whose experts will contribute to the development of the methodology and the sharing of best practice from their many years of work on sustainable development programmes for children in Switzerland. and to show us all this in person during a study visit to Switzerland by education professionals.
We believe that, with the support of donors, the project's final outcome will be a handbook of educational materials prepared through the multidisciplinary work of the project team and that, in the future, it will serve nurseries and schools across the Republic of Croatia.
We look forward to the possibility of "Eco-Wednesday" evolving into "Every Day is Eco-Wednesday!" — a programme that would encourage a new generation of children to understand, care for and act for a sustainable future.
