Eco Wednesdays: Waste: Trash or Treasure?

Eco Wednesdays: Waste: Trash or Treasure?

Today, our volunteer Naelys led the 7th Eco Wednesday as part of the “Kornati – It's Important to Know About the Sea 10” project, co-financed by the Ministry of Science, Education, and Youth 🌱🌊

This workshop, titled “Waste: Trash or Treasure?”, aimed to remind children of the clear and precise definition of waste and proper sorting.

After a brief introduction to the topic, the children played bingo. For many of them, it was the first time playing the game, and they said they really enjoyed it! Besides having fun, they managed to recognize items in the three categories shown in the game—plastic, paper, and organic waste—and think about how to sort them properly.

Since this topic can be somewhat repetitive for children who are already well-acquainted with environmental issues, we decided to include a fun, hands-on final activity. We wrapped up the workshop with a small competition in which teams faced various challenges and competed to see who could sort the waste the best.

In this workshop, we reviewed our previous knowledge, but above all—we had a great time!

See you next week at the new workshop! 😉
