On February 18 our volunteer Naelys led the first Winter Eco-Wednesday of 2026 as part of the “Kornati – 10 Things You Need to Know About the Sea” project, which is co-funded by the Ministry of Science, Education, and Youth.
The workshop consisted of three interconnected activities. In the first activity, the children were given pictures of living beings as well as natural and artificial objects found in the environment, and their task was to sort them into the appropriate categories. In this way, they learned to distinguish between living and non-living.
In the second activity, the children were shown a landscape and added various animals and natural elements, thereby becoming familiar with the concept of biodiversity.
The final activity was dynamic and fun – through movement, dance, and imitating animals, the children further developed their understanding of the connection between humans and nature.
The reflection we did at the end showed us how much the children enjoyed the workshop, and we can conclude that we couldn't have wished for a better start to this program!
We are very excited to continue raising children's awareness of environmental protection topics! See you again on February 25 at DC Jedro.
