My carbon footprint adventure

My carbon footprint adventure

Today, our volunteer Naelys led the fifth Eco Wednesday as part of the “Kornati – It's Important to Know About the Sea 10” project, co-funded by the Ministry of Science, Education, and Youth 🌱🌊

The topic of the day was the carbon footprint.
After an introduction filled with brief definitions and simple examples, we kicked off the workshop with the first activity: “Is It Good or Bad for the Environment?” The children were given everyday activities and had to decide whether they were good or bad for the environment. We had fun and found it interesting to hear their thoughts!

After the first activity, we moved on to a much more fun one: pantomime. In a creative way, the children thought of alternatives to activities that pollute the environment.

At the end of the workshop, we analyzed the group's carbon footprint. The children were to place a red dot next to each activity that causes high carbon emissions and a green dot next to each activity with low emissions.

This workshop was a great example of informal education and an excellent opportunity to reflect on everyday activities with children.

See you next week at the new workshop! 😉
