On Monday 8 September, we took part in at the second LiRRIE workshop held at the premises of the Development Agency, an activity carried out as part of The Interreg Euro-MED project AZA4ICE.

The workshop brought together representatives of all key stakeholders in the aquaculture sector. 5-helix approach – from regional decision-makers and scientific and research institutions to fish and shellfish producers, environmental protection associations and the interested public.

The main topic was IMTA – circular aquaculture practices and the possibilities of their application in the Šibenik-Knin County.
We would particularly like to highlight the presentation by the external collaborator. Mrs. Simone Zaninović, which presented the provisional results of the monitoring of environmental parameters conducted over the past year in the pilot area of the Krka River estuary in Šibenik.

The ultimate aim of these workshops and the data collected will be to produce Action plan with guidelines for the introduction of circular practices in aquaculture.

Thus, the Šibenik-Knin County seeks to become A leader in environmentally conscious development in Croatia and an example of sustainable, circular solutions for entrepreneurs in the sector.
