The Last One

The Last One

Hi Argonautas, and welcome to the one and only last blog.

This time, the blog will be a bit different.

As it is the last one, I won’t be talking much about what happened in August, because I spent most of the month on vacation with my family, so there aren’t that many things to talk about. However, I can feel the end approaching, and I kind of feel like going through, one last time, everything that I loved here and that will definitely leave a trace on me.

I will start with our very first task here in Murter, which still remains one of the most magical moments I have experienced this year:

The dolphin-watching tour! 🐬

How could I ever forget the moment when I had just arrived on the island? I was still amazed by the beauty of the landscapes and thrilled by the idea of starting a new life here, when the team asked us to film dolphins! It couldn’t have been a better start. Great strategy, Argonauta! ;)

Then, throughout the year, I loved all the opportunities we had to travel, from the national parks (Kornati, Krka, Plitvice Lakes) to beautiful cities (Rijeka, Zadar, Šibenik, Zagreb, Split, Dubrovnik), and even to other countries (Bosnia, Germany, Slovenia, Türkiye). They were always wonderful adventures, with their good and bad moments, but they are memories that I will definitely cherish for a long time.

Then comes my favourite part of the work here: the youth exchanges.

What an incredible experience!

I will always be grateful to have had the opportunity to discover the world of international exchanges. The people I met there were all so interesting and funny, and some of them became real highlights of my year. I hope the friendships I created here will last for a long time. And who knows, maybe I will soon take part in other youth exchanges and continue this wonderful adventure that I had the chance to start here.

But let’s be honest, I cannot talk about friendship without mentioning the one that has brightened my whole stay here.

Dear Ona, if you read that blog here is what I want you and the Argonautas to know.

You are an incredible person, and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to spend so much time with you. I sincerely believe that if I hadn’t been with you, this experience wouldn’t have been nearly as great. Because every time I look back, I realise that so many of the beautiful memories I made were with you.

Thank you for everything. Love you. ❤️

Finally, there are a few other people I would like to thank.

Nela and Lucija, who will probably never read this, ahaha.

I wanted to thank you for your support, your listening ears, and simply for being there. It wasn’t always easy in the office, but you always tried your best to make things better for us, and for that, thank you very much. :)

And finally, thank you, Argonautas, for following my adventures throughout this year.

It is now time for me to begin a new chapter of my life.

I wish lots of joy and wonderful adventures to the next volunteers. Make the most of it, because it goes by much faster than you think!

Bye!👋💙

Bok Murter!
