Argonauta at Project EXPO in Zagreb: Sharing Experiences and Inspiring New Projects

Behind us is a two-day event entitled Project EXPO: Show. Share. Inspire., which took place on 12th and 13th of October in Zagreb and brought together around 180 beneficiaries of the Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps programmes from the fields of education, training, youth and sport.

Project EXPO was an opportunity to present our work in the field of international volunteering and youth mobility, share the experience gained through the implementation of European projects, and connect with other organisations that create new opportunities for learning, personal development and the active participation of young people through their activities.

We presented our two European Solidarity Corps projects: Island Extravaganza, designed for short-term volunteers, and WIN – Volunteer IN Murter. Through these projects, we provide young people with opportunities to gain international volunteering experience, get to know the local community, engage in intercultural learning and actively participate in life on the island of Murter. We also presented our Erasmus+ youth exchange projects, through which young people learn, explore new perspectives, develop their competences and meet peers from different countries.

We placed special emphasis on the Youth Leader 101 handbook, developed as a result of the five-day Erasmus+ training course of the same name, held in Tisno from 6 to 12 March 2026. The aim of the training was to empower young people to take the next step from participating in Erasmus+ youth exchanges to taking on the role of group leaders. Through non-formal education methods, practical exercises, simulations, experience sharing and peer learning, participants developed skills in leadership, facilitation and supporting young people before, during and after international mobility activities. The Youth Leader 101 handbook provides an overview of the learning process, the methodologies used and the key insights gained during the training. It is intended for future group leaders as a practical resource and a source of support in taking on greater responsibilities in Erasmus+ youth exchanges. The handbook is available on Argonauta's website under the Publications section.

Participating in Project EXPO was another opportunity to exchange ideas, present the results of our work and establish new connections and partnerships. Events like this remind us of the value of European programmes, which enable young people to learn beyond the boundaries of their communities, develop initiative and actively participate in shaping society.

We would like to thank AMPEU and all participants for the inspiring encounters, conversations and exchange of experiences. We look forward to new collaborations and projects that will continue to open doors to new opportunities for young people!
