The competition for creating an illustration of the short story "Verice sa Ivinja" has concluded, and after a careful review of all the submitted works, the expert jury selected the winning illustration. First place was awarded to Gabriela Dujmović, whose work was judged the best among a large number of high-quality submissions.

A total of applications were received for the competition 82, of which 79 met the competition's requirements and entered the evaluation process. The jury members faced a challenging task, as the submitted works demonstrated a high level of creativity, technical execution, and artistic approach.

In the submission, the author described the process of creating her illustration:

"While reading the short story, the first visualizations that represent my personal vision of the story came to mind. In creating the illustrations, I researched traditional folk costumes, and since I myself come from a village, I strove to portray the rural way of life and the appearance of the characters as faithfully as possible. Frane is depicted as a man in his forties or fifties, and I slightly caricatured his clothing to further emphasize his identity as a country man. For the cover, I chose a scene in which Frane is picking olives, while Lucija, depicted like a ghost, quietly watches him. The illustrations are created using a combination of watercolor, white acrylic, and Rapidograph.

The winning illustration will serve as the story's cover, and over the next period the author will create the remaining illustrations that will accompany its publication.
