February had always been a short month, and this year it felt like it flew by even faster. We started it full of energy, preparing Winter Full of Life, the new program from Argonauta. The idea was simple and exciting: to use our own skills to organize creative workshops for the children on the island.
So far, we had explored origami, photography, painting, Zumba, and bracelet making, watching how each small project sparked curiosity and joy. Every workshop was an opportunity to share, learn, and let imagination soar together.

During my personal time, I started exploring some new hobbies. I picked up crochet and tried my hand at baking, and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. There was something really satisfying about making something with my own hands, and each little success, no matter how small, brought a genuine spark of joy.

In the middle of February, we celebrated Naely’s 22nd birthday. We started with homemade crepes in the morning, followed by a delicious cake with the office girls.

Izan came to Murter for a week, and we made the most of every moment. Our adventure started in Split, where I acted as his tour guide. We wandered through the streets, stopped for good food, and laughed at every little thing along the way. After a few days, he joined me in Murter, and that’s when the real fun began. I showed him my favorite places on the island, and he even prepared a barbecue for us. We spent Carnival together, with Naely, we dressed up in costumes to join the parade on the main street.

We also started Eco-Wednesdays and the Argonauta program Argonauta for Betina’s and Murter’s kindergarten kids, focusing on eco-friendly activities so they could learn new ways to take care of the environment while having fun.
During one of the last weekends of February, Naely went to Vienna to visit a friend. With her away, I ended up feeling a bit bored at home and had some quiet time to myself. This made me realize that Naelys is really the key part of my experience in Murter.
At the end of February, I took a trip to Serbia to visit some friends we had met in January. Novi Sad was an amazing city that welcomed me with open arms. I spent my days exploring its streets, discovering charming corners, and soaking up the local atmosphere. I also treated myself to a visit to a Turkish sauna, where I enjoyed a relaxing massage, and savored some truly delicious food. The whole trip felt warm, lively, and unforgettable.
Looking back, February was an instant of creativity, friendship, and exploration. It reminded me how much joy can be found in both big adventures and quiet everyday moments.
*The European Solidarity Corps (ESS) is a program of the European Union to strengthen solidarity in various areas: from helping disadvantaged people and providing humanitarian aid to engagement for health and the environment in the EU and beyond.
The program offers young people the opportunity to respond to the needs of the community, make a concrete contribution to society, and in the process gain invaluable experience and develop new skills. The program is also intended for organizations active in the field of solidarity that want to involve young people in their activities.
