Last week, our two volunteers participated in the Midterm Evaluation training held in Zadar from June 9 to 12.
Over the course of four days, they had the opportunity to meet other ESC volunteers from across Croatia, exchange experiences, reflect on their volunteer journey so far, and consider their future plans and opportunities for further development.
The first part of the training was dedicated to reflecting on their volunteer experience to date. Volunteers had the opportunity to pause and look back on the past months – recognize their successes, highlight what they had learned, celebrate their achievements, and identify areas for further development as they continue their project. Through conversations and sharing experiences, they gained a new perspective, support from other volunteers, and valuable ideas for facing the challenges that lie ahead.
The second part of the training was focused on life after the ESC project ends. Participants discussed returning to everyday life, ways they can use the knowledge and skills gained while volunteering, and opportunities to continue actively participating in Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps programs. They were presented with various opportunities – from youth exchanges and training courses to new volunteer projects and initiatives that promote active citizenship.
This was a valuable and inspiring experience that gave them the opportunity to connect, exchange ideas, and meet young people from different parts of Croatia. They returned with renewed energy, numerous new acquaintances, and extra motivation to continue their volunteer journey.
